It needs to be future-proof and efficient – technology in the nerve centers of the economy: in control rooms. However, as soon as experts begin talking about ‘end of life’ or ‘end of service’ and the associated performance losses, many executives start to worry. That doesn’t have to be the case! If Captain Kirk had had the choice, his preferred place of work would probably not have been the Enterprise, but the command bridge of Carnival Maritime’s Fleet Operations Center. In Hamburg, the cruise company has teamed up with JST to create a high-tech control room whose ’crew’ keeps an eye on the oceans of our planet.

We listened carefully to what thousands of operators told us. We brought together their wishes, experiences and requirements. The result: the HeliosX. With this innovative control room workstation, JST provides a stand-alone solution for the control room, a console that combines all the requirements for a self-sufficient workplace.

We did it! Jungmann Systemtechnik has moved into new headquarters in Neu Wulmstorf, and all colleagues have been working diligently to assist with the transition. Why the relocation? At the award ceremony, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar summed it up perfectly: ‘Innovation is not something you have. Economic pressure is mounting. The number of skilled workers is falling. Not a good combination! To counteract this, RWE Power AG has decided to take effective action. Three formerly independent control rooms have been merged into a central control room. The result: improved overview, maximum flexibility and clever use of human resources.
