BACK TO OVERVIEW

Growth course requires new monitoring standards

They are among the world’s largest processors of liquid silicone and are continuing to grow: The “starlim//sterner” group of companies expanded its production area by around 70 percent at the beginning of 2012. The work on the 17,500 square meter increased area at the Austrian company headquarters Marchtrenk will be in its final phase in April 2012. The first machines are already running, the employees have moved into their new workplaces, and the completely new control center has also been put into operation.

However, the expansion of capacity at the headquarters naturally also creates new demands. And this is exactly where Jungmann Systemtechnik comes into play: To ensure a perfect overview of all systems, a new control room was set up. By means of modern technology and a new large display wall, the two dispatchers in the control center maintain an overview of all important systems of the building services installations at all times.

Hannes Jungmair, Manager Facility, describes how important this control is in a worst-case scenario: “Since hundreds of injection moulding machines are protected from overheating by a cooling water cooling circuit, control errors could, in the worst case, lead to production downtime of several months. The 27-year-old responsible project manager does not spare praise for the work of the Jungmann team. “After visiting the control room simulatorin Buxtehude, we were absolutely convinced that JST was the right partner for us. The cooperation was right from the beginning – and that has continued to be so until today”, says Hannes Jungmair.
