New AES/NSL signals competence and expertise

More than 200 million euros annual turnover, 5,400 employees and more than 30 companies operating under the umbrella of the group – impressive facts. But not only the numbers are convincing. By moving into its new headquarters in Hanover, Niedersächsische Wach- und Schliessgesellschaft Eggeling & Schorling KG/VSU Vereinigte Sicherheitsunternehmen GmbH is setting particularly innovative standards.
Since the beginning of 2015, the headquarters have been located in a new, ultra-modern complex at 136 Vahrenwalder Strasse. The heart and information hub of the new building is the Alarm Receiving Station (AES) according to DIN 50518 or the Emergency call and service control center (NSL) according to VdS 3138. In order to implement this, the traditional Hanover-based company, founded in 1901 as the first private security service in Europe, has joined forces with the professionals from JST – Jungmann Systemtechnik®.

About 50,000 messages arrive at the AES/NSL in the 24 hours of an average day. To be able to always react reliably and in line with the situation, the employees not only have special software at their disposal, but also workstations that are both ergonomically and technically state-of-the-art. Two proactive large screens represent all important events and enable the team to communicate and coordinate optimally with the clients and among themselves.

Technology and furnishing from one source

“It was our ambition to have everything from one source. Both the technical equipment and the furniture”, report Jörg Echternach (authorized signatory of the group of companies) and Jens Schütte (head of AES/NSL), who are jointly responsible for the planning and implementation of the new control center. Although the security experts were aware of the excellent reputation that Jungmann enjoys in the industry thanks to various projects, they wanted to see the JST competence for themselves.

JST-Niedersächsische Wach- und Schließgesellschaft: photorealistic 3D preliminary planning

JST 3-D Planning: Thanks to photo-realistic designs virtual tours of the new control room were already possible before the implementation.

A visit to the control room simulator brought quick decision

A delegation of the Niedersächsische Wach- und Schliessgesellschaft Eggeling & Schorling KG/VSU Vereinigte Sicherheitsunternehmen GmbH visited the control room simulator from JST with exact ideas about the most important features of the new control center in order to sound out all possibilities on site. Jörg Echternach: “After an intensive workshop, the final decision was quickly made in favor of JST.”

"We never want to be without a large screen wall again."

In retrospect, Jörg Echternach also describes a 3D planning project commissioned in advance from Jungmann, which enabled a comprehensive visualization of the future security area, as “extremely useful and important planning aid”. The company was initially somewhat skeptical when it came to the advantages of integrating large-format screens into workflows. “And that is exactly what we never want to do without today. They represent a clear added value for our clients in the provision of services,” report the project managers.

JST-Niedersächsische Wach- und Schließgesellschaft: Display-Suit with 4 x 46 inch displays

JST Display wall: Two DisplayWalls with four 46-inch displays of the SlimLine series allow the operator team a perfect visualization of all incoming messages.

"Alarms are immediately noticed by the team"

With eight displays of the Slim-Line series specially developed for 24-hour continuous operation, which also allow cross-screen displays as BigPicture without disturbing frames, nothing escapes the trained eyes of the control center staff. The PixelDetection® software developed by JST displays the most important events immediately for all operators. Jörg Echternach comments: “All alarm messages are immediately noticed by the team. The employees can therefore react even faster. In a control center with a daily volume of over 50,000 messages, the right organization and visualization are a decisive criterion for success”.

JST-Niedersächsische Wach- und Schließgesellschaft: myGUI user interface for MultiConsoling on a workstation monitor

JST MultiConsoling®: The myGUI® – shown here on the left screen – serves as the user interface for the MultiConsoling®. Advantage of this technology: Computer signals with keyboard, video, mouse, audio signals, cameras and even TVs are flexibly displayed in real time on the monitors at the workplace or on the large screen walls.

Individual leeway ensures satisfaction

The safety expert also rates the satisfaction of the employees with the high-quality and ergonomically well thought-out control room furniture of the Stratos series. The setting options of the Stratos OperatorDesks are particularly noteworthy here. Height-adjustable work desks, an individually adjustable AmbientLight and, last but not least, the many possibilities offered by the JST MultiConsolings® enable each individual to design his or her workstation optimally. “Ideal especially when the workplaces are used by different employees due to the 24/7 service”, confirms Jörg Echternach.

Control center with clearly representative character

Not only the employees are enthusiastic about their new working environment. The control center receives undivided praise and recognition during visits from clients and potential customers. Jörg Echternach: “This control center demonstrates leading competence and expertise. Values that our group of companies has stood for more than 100 years!”
